POSITION: Auto Electrician
LOCATION: PMC Phalaborwa
REPORTING TO: Shift Supervisor/ Shift Foreman

JOB SUMMARY STATEMENT: Perform work involving maintenance & breakdowns for earth moving machinery. (Excavators, Trucks , Graders, Dozers, Front end loaders, Tlb’s & other support machines as part of the yellow fleet.. .

KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS (DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES):
• Adhere to organizational Safety and Quality requirements
• Checks electrical systems on designated fleet daily by visually inspecting operation of lights, flashers, warning systems, computers and analyzing fault on machines to determine route causes.
• Carry out any electrical repairs to designated fleet e.g., Wiring, starters or alternators.
• Lists all faults which cannot be rectified immediately and report these to the Supervisor for later action.
• Requisitions any electrical spares needed for you designated fleet by discussing it with the Shift Supervisor.
• Carry out planned electrical maintenance on various machines as required.
• Keep the history files updated daily.
• Check and sign all service cards daily on items you have repaired.
• Completes paperwork / component slips concerning repairs to units (Job cards)
• Follow up on breakdowns as a matter of urgency on electricals.
• Must be able to do minor mechanical work such as topping up oils, minor repairs and minor mechanical inspections
• General tidiness and good housekeeping of workshop and other areas of responsibility.
